As we move closer to opening registration for the FordDirect Cares Charity Golf Outing, scheduled for Monday, Sept. 9 at the Inn at St. John’s in Plymouth, we are excited to announce the two charity beneficiaries for this year’s outing.

This year’s FordDirect Cares Charity Golf Outing beneficiaries are Teen HYPE (Helping Youth by Providing Education) and The Drew Crew.

About Teen HYPE

Since 2004, Teen HYPE (Helping Youth by Providing Education) has reached more than 35,000 Detroit-area youth through programming that assures every young person reaches their potential. Each year, hundreds of students in dozens of local schools are provided with adolescent health programs that emphasize future-oriented thinking, effective communication, and avoiding risky behaviors. Additionally, more than 600 teens have been trained as Peer Educators who are dedicated to community service, social justice, and risk avoidance. Each year, Teen HYPE youth develop an original stage production focused on a riveting social issue, reaching over 3,000 students and adults in the community.

About The Drew Crew

The Drew Crew is a non-profit organization focused on helping individuals and families that have suffered a spinal cord injury or traumatic brain injury. The charity’s mission is to show that those who have suffered a catastrophic injury such as this can still live a complete and fulfilling life. The Drew Crew is capable of giving mentorship and guidance to individuals and families, as well as helping or facilitating a way to raise money for a specific need. It is named for Drew Clayborn, stepson of FordDirect employee Tracie Clayborn. Drew suffered a spinal cord injury in 2010, and the community’s outpouring of love and support then led to the formation of The Drew Crew.

More information about the FordDirect Cares Charity Golf Outing, including registration details, will be available shortly.
