More than a dozen FordDirect team members and family participated with Ford Motor Co. by raising money for, running, or walking in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Detroit last Saturday. To date, the Ford team has raised more than $17,000.

FordDirect joined breast cancer survivors and their supporters, along with several thousand other participants, on a new course this year. Team members began their runs or walks in Brush Park before crossing through Eastern Market, then turned south along a mile-long stretch of the Dequindre Cut Greenway before exiting at Lafayette. The course then followed I-375 before turning onto Gratiot and entering the final stretch back toward Ford Field, and eventually the finish line outside Comerica Park’s outfield.

Of FordDirect team members to participate, Kevin Liederbach was the first across the finish line in 24:23 (7:50 per mile), easily beating his 25:05 mark in the 2018 event.
